Great Weather App for OS X

I’ve been using this Wx for many years, before it came to the App Store. It is a really great weather app I find it to be very accurate, easy to use, and provides all the information I need in a weather app. It’s interface is clean, easy to read and understand. I like that it’s easy to add multiple weather stations so I can easily keep up with the weather where my family lives. I showed it to a friend who is a real weather buff and he really liked all the features. He’s a Windows user and cannot find anything like it there. :-) Finally, I’ve communicated with Craig several times and he is great. The support for this app is excellent.

Excellent App

I use this every day several times a day. The program is easy to use and the data are updated every minute. This is one of the best I have. Works well mobile without wifi as well as with wifi or connected to land line (office use). The program is update and modified as the data sources change their urls (unfortunately NOAA does this). If you need customer service, they respond via email within a few hours.

Nice but...

i was disappointed that I can’t zoom in or enlarge the screen to get a better view

Long Time User

I’ve used Wx for quite a while now and it has always been great. I have family and friends spread out across the country and travel a lot so teh ability just to keep track of weather events near friends, where I traveling to and major airline hubs is extremely useful. Craig, the devloper, has continued to improve this software over the years, enhancing the displays and keeping up with the nationwide changes in weather reprting standards. I can’t remember him ever charging for an update. Bottomline, always accurate, simple to use and extremely helpful, great investment. Scott Hampton, VA

Ok…here’s my opinion.

• Need a full screen view of everything • This Lion version is cumbersome to use. Maps and data are mixed up in the same view column. It was better when they were separated. • You cant adjust the size of the window, so it doesnt fit well with other weather apps you may have active on the same desktop - dumb. Once size does not fit all. • Why didnt he just leave it the way it was and just make it work under Lion? • Its an iPad version ported over to work with Lion, or vice versa. • Its a $5.00 app not a $12 app. • Can anyone tell me how to add the ADD (aviation weather) information as was in the previous version? I see you can click the (I) information button, that sends you off to a website. If I wanted to go to a website, Id do it myself. Why not just bring the information over from the website…lazy programming. I do better with Applescript. • Finding some bugs - typing in airport ICAOs sometimes send you off to the center of the country. I typed in KHOU and ended up in Kansas. Worked the second time after cancelling and trying again.

It works…but

The quality of the radar image shown does not look anything like what you actually get in the app. The one you get in the app is pixelated and has no way to remove ground clutter. If you are looking for a quality app and need to view quality radar images…this isnt the app.

Resolution?

Using a 2012 imac 27’’ from early 2012. Is there a way to increase window size/and or window scale? Seems like what I was looking for but the imagery and scale is miniscule.. I origonally wanted to be able to see what small storms were approacing from the West Coast and nearing my town. It’s a nice weather app as far as the convienent measurement layouts/weather instruments. Going to leave the 5/5 for now and research on..

Clean and seemingly precise

Pilot. Like the overall data presentation. Like the quick click through to METAR and other data sources. Missing: Pressure in the graphs section?? Seems like an obvious one. Ideal: Canadian data. Thanks. Good clean app.

Handy app

I find this a very handy app to keep track of the wx at home while I’m traveling (I am gone a lot). It gives me the information I’m looking for, in one handy spot.

Outstanding

Doesnt try to make the reporting of weather facts dramatic. Outstanding app. Perfect in all respects.

Great App

This app is easy to use with a lovely interface and accurate so what more can you ask

Tiny

The window is TINY, and as far as I can tell cannot be made larger (not much bigger than a large phone). I am running it on my 15" mac, so not acceptable for a weather app, much less one I paid for. This needs to be remedied!

The standard bearer

I use other weather apps but Wx is the one to measure by. Accurate, professional, reliable, and the work of responsible developers.

Paid for nothing new

Just downloaded this so may be missing some features I havent learned about yet. Having said that, why did I just pay $12 for something I get free every day from the local NOAA weather site. Uses the same weather radar, same forecast information, same alerts that NOA puts out and doesnt get any closer to my location for current temperature, etc readings. Just puts in a slightly different, although not necessarily better format. I must be missing something.

Weather Ap for the Intelligent

Wx not only gives the weather basics, but it includes a detailed written explanation of what will happen each day and evening. I finally have confidence in a forecast after trying several other apps. It is a wonderful replacement for cute pictures and numbers. In addition, the customer service is extraordinary. It is quick and personal.

Love It!

As a weather junkie, I love this app because it gives me so much customization that I can create the maps and information I can really use. Very well done!!!

Graphics and size problem

For $11.99 I would expect to zoom in on the radar map, and should be able to read the text better on the map. I would not have paid for this had I know the level of viewing for the radar map was so large. I live in Colorado and it can be great weather in one place and terrible 15 miles away, a zoom feature should be required for this price. I found it interesting that your map is the same exact as NOAA’s, that one isnt zoomable either, kinda like you just tapped into their web page with no added features and you charge for it…...

Outstanding

Everything you need to do your own forecast! Incredible!

Mr.

Overall I like this app, But I would like the ability to enlarge the window to screen size, to atlas 75% of my monitor. currently fills a little less than 25% of screen. My system is an I Mac with os-x yosimite 10.10.2
